THINGS YOU MAY WANT TO ASK US….

Q: Can we have extra tables and chairs?

A: Yes, no problem, we have a selection of different size tables & plenty of comfy chairs, just ask your party planner.

Q: Do you supply table linen and linen napkins?

A: We can arrange a beautiful selection of table linen, napkins and chair covers for you, for a small charge.

Q: Do you allow corkage?

A: Yes, we do, the cost is from £12 per bottle. However, our Wines and Champagnes are very competitively priced.

Q: Do you have a cake knife we can use?

A: Yes of course.

Q: Do you have a cake stand we can use?

A: Yes, we can supply high chairs for toddlers, please advise us with the numbers you require.

Q: Do you have a car park?

A: We do have small car park to the rear of Canvas/andwhynot, however we cannot guarantee spaces on the day. Don’t worry though, there are plenty of car parking spaces within a 2 minute walking distance from Canvas, on Toothill Road and opposite us, behind Wilko’s.

Q: Can we book our own entertainment?

A: Yes, please remember though, for legal requirement, all equipment must be PAT tested & have Public Liability Insurance which we’ll need to see proof of.

Q: Is there a stage where bands can perform?

A: Yes, simply ask your artists to contact your party planner.

Q: Is there an option to play any of our own music?

A: Yes, this can be arranged, please supply us with music on an iPad, iPod or similar device… Please remember - if using more recent iPads or iPhones, please bring your lighting to mini jack adapters.

Q: Do you allow candles in your venue?

A: Yes, if they are protected and not placed near flammable materials

Q: Could you include tea & coffee in your packages?

A: Of course, tea & coffee can be arranged.

Q: What time does the bar close?

A: We are licensed to serve alcohol until the early hours. For events commencing at 7pm, the bar will close at around Midnight, please see your party planner should you wish your party to continue later.

Q: One of my guests uses a wheelchair do you have disabled access?

A: Currently, Canvas is not wheelchair accessible and for this we apologise. Alternatively, andwhynot (downstairs) is available for exclusive private hire Sunday to Thursday evenings for parties of more than 100 guests.

Q: Is Canvas child/baby friendly?

A: Yes, of course children under the age of 18 are welcome to celebrate with you until 10pm. We also have baby changing facilities and a bottle warmer. On Friday and Saturday evenings from 7pm we kindly ask that children under the age of 14 stay upstairs in Canvas at all times.

Q: Can you recommend a photographer?

A: Yes we know some brilliant, professional photographers. Samples and numbers can be arranged.

Q: Do you have an outside area?

A: Yes, Canvas offers a beautiful outside area for you and your guests to enjoy along-side customers from andwhynot. We do also have a smaller area too that can be used exclusively for your guests for a small charge.

Q: Can we book our own party planner/designer to decorate the room?

A: Yes of course, we do however know some brilliant companies we can put you in touch with.

Q: How many guests can attend our event?

A: Canvas has a capacity of 250 guests (seating for 30) or for seated events/dining, we can comfortably seat 120 to 130 guests.

OUR TERMS AND CONDITIONS

 

1 Confirmations

 

When a provisional booking is received it will be held for 14 days until written confirmation is received to confirm the booking and your deposit is paid. At that time, we ask for an estimated number of guests and a guaranteed minimum, final numbers must be agreed 2 weeks prior to your event if dining and these will be the numbers charged for . All deposits are non-refundable/transferable unless due to Covid 19 restrictions or illness, where your deposit will be happily transferred to another preferred date.

 

2 Payments

 

The outstanding balance of the account is payable by the customer 14 days before the event unless alternative arrangements have been agreed with the company.
The customer is responsible for the checking and settlement of all accounts
(PLEASE NOTE THERE ARE NO REFUNDS AFTER THS DATE)

 

3 Cancellations

 

All cancellations must be made in writing by email to damien@andwhynot.co.uk
A. Any time after the booking, the deposit is forfeited to cover administration costs.
B. 27—14 Days prior to the event 50% of the booking value to be paid
C. 13—8 days prior to the event 80% of the booking value to be paid
D. 7 days or less prior to the event 100% of the total booking value to be paid *please see above for Covid 19 related cancellations

 

4 Damage

 

The customer assumes responsibility for any and all damage caused by him/her or any of his/her guests or other persons attending the event.

 

5 Food & Drink

 

No wines, spirits, beers or food may be brought into Canvas or andwhynot by clients or guests for consumption on the premises.
All food & beverages must be purchased from Canvas or andwhynot unless otherwise agreed

 

6 Times of your event

 

Events are required to start & finish at the time agreed when your booking is made.
PLEASE ENSURE YOUR GUESTS HAVE ARRANGED TRANSPORT FOR WHEN YOUR EVENT FINISHES

 

7 Display Items
Affixing signs, displays and posters to walls may only be carried out with the authorisation from Management

 

8 Publicity
Our Company name, logo and telephone number cannot be used in any advertising or publicity without consent.
